Professional services business Bravo has hired a new CEO and CFO plus changed the role of the Chairman. We have deployed some “Coaching for the First 100 Days” and are now facilitating meetings of the senior trio. The sessions focus on the real work of the company at a strategic level – so the outcomes, the deliverables and outputs have to be measured by their contribution to the wider business. The Chairman has suggested that success should be measured by “the team’s performance as well as its’ health”.

The coaching sessions with one of the team from the Partnership encouraged me to reflect on my management and leadership behaviour, particularly towards my employees.   The feedback exercise was more useful than I anticipated in reminding me of my strengths and the qualities others see in me, plus those areas where I am less effective.    I am very clear where I now need to focus to develop my managerial and leadership skills.

The support I had from my coach during my first 90 days with the organisation helped me make the business my own, to get the re-shaping underway with clearly defined deliverables. The revised proposition was signed off by the board and crucially the sales decline has been arrested.
